ChoreZaar is a parent-managed family chores and rewards app for household managers and family members. This policy explains how ChoreZaar handles information when you use the app.
Who this app is for
A parent, guardian, or household manager creates and controls the family account. Family members do not create individual accounts or provide email addresses to ChoreZaar. The account manager is responsible for the profile names and activity they add for family members in their household.
Information we collect
- Family account email address and Firebase user identifier.
- Family member profile names and member PIN security data. PINs are stored as salted hashes, not as readable PIN numbers.
- Chores, rewards, point balances, completion claims, reward requests, and related family activity.
- Crash and device diagnostic information needed to identify and fix app failures.
How we use information
We use this information to authenticate the family account, provide shared family chore and reward features, synchronize data between a family’s devices, provide support, and improve app reliability through crash diagnosis.
Storage and service providers
ChoreZaar uses Google Firebase services: Firebase Authentication for sign-in, Cloud Firestore for family data, and Firebase Crashlytics for crash reporting. The app also stores a manage-mode preference locally on the device. Firebase processes data under Google’s applicable terms and privacy practices.
What we do not collect or do
ChoreZaar does not collect location, contacts, payment information, or advertising identifiers. It does not use advertising or analytics, and it does not sell personal information.
How family data is protected
Family data is protected by Firebase Authentication and Firestore security rules. Only the authenticated family account can access that family’s data.
Data retention and deletion
We retain family account data while the account is active. You may request deletion of your family account, Firebase Authentication account, and associated Firestore family data at any time. We verify requests using the family-account email and complete them within 30 days. Information required by law or de-identified crash diagnostics may remain subject to Firebase retention practices.
